John’s great adventure talk

INTREPID wilderness explorer, writer and photographer John Dunn will give a talk in Perth next Tuesday evening on his arduous British Columbia expedition. The talk in Perth Concert Hall as part of the RSGS’s ‘Inspiring People’ Talks Programme.

John has a particular fascination for the Canadian Arctic. ‘Cordillera Crossing’ charts the toughest expedition he has undertaken so far – a 1000km hiking and canoeing struggle through the untracked wilderness of northern British Columbia, where the parallel mountain ranges of the Canadian Cordillera are part of the western backbone of North America.

His talk will be accompanied by superb landscape images and fascinating video clips which convey the human side of such a journey. This is a great adventure tale, mixing geography, history and exploration.

The Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS) is an educational charity established in October 1884. It is celebrating its 125th anniversary by organising its best ever programme of illustrated public talks, giving people the opportunity to hear some wonderful stories at first hand.
