Pianist Alexander Romanovsky plays in Perth

STUNNING young pianist Alexander Romanovsky (pictured) is coming to Perth Concert Hall on December 14 as part of the Lunchtime Concerts series at the venue.

Ukraine-born Alexander (23) has been building an international reputation and is in much demand for performances worldwide.

At the age of 17, he won first prize in the renowned Busoni Competition in Italy and since 2007 has released two critically acclaimed CDs with the Decca label of music by Schumann, Brahms and Rachmaninov.

He is currently studying with Dmitri Alex-eev at the Royal College of Music in London and in 2009 was selected for representation by Young Concert Artists Trust.

This season Alexander 's engagements include appearances as soloist with the Mariinsky Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev in the Mariinsky Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, with the Russian National Orchestra conducted by Michael Pletnev in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican in London. He has already performed widely in Europe at major festivals and venues

He comes to Perth with a recital including works by Rachmaninov.
