AWARD-winning author James Robertson will give a talk and answer questions about his work at the Ogilvy Rooms in Alyth on Wednesday, March 24.
James describes himself as a poet, novelist, short story writer and editor, working in English and Scots.
He has written several successful novels including ‘The Fanatic’, ‘Joseph Knight’ which won the Saltire Book of the Year and the Scottish Arts Council Book of the Year awards in 2003/4, and ‘The Testament of Gideon Mack’ which was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize and featured on the Richard and Judy Book Club.
He has also written a number of children’s books in Scots and has translated into Scots some old favourites such as Fantastic Mr Fox and Winnie the Pooh.
James grew up in Bridge of Allan and studied history at Edinburgh University. He worked in a variety of jobs before becoming a full-time writer. He now lives in Newtyle.
