EVEN though he thought his sell-out Perth audience was “(insert adjective) weird”, we loved him and hope the big Irishman stops off here again for another gigantic helping of his off-the-cuff, work-the-audience stand-up comedy.

It was 11pm when his hilarious butt-patting skit finished an hilarious and witty show which had a happy audience filing out of the Concert Hall with a unified chorus of “we certainly got our money’s worth.”

The Mock the Week host gave a masterclass in stand-up, wit exuding from every cell of his 6ft 4ins frame. The interaction with his audience – milking cream from the smallest situation – showed Dara at his best, but his scripted material was pure gold too.

Mock the Perth crowd all you like, Dara – our skins may be thick but they’re highly receptive to your Irish blarney.
