Fred MacAulay at Perth Theatre

FAMOUS Perth-born comedian Fred MacAulay brings his well-kent wit and wordly wisdom to Perth Theatre for an evening of stand-up comedy next Thursday – May 13.

He steps out of his BBC Radio Scotland studio to start his live tour in Aberdeen on Sunday.

Fred is best known for his popular morning show on BBC’s Radio Scotland, as well as a string of TV appearances, including Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You. Alongside his morning radio show, Fred also anchors I Guess That’s Why They Call It The News on BBC Radio 4.

This Rattray and Scone-raised policeman’s son has also tackled numerous charity challenges. Most recently, Fred could be seen undertaking a gruelling, three-day kayak trip up the Caledonian Canal for Sport Relief with TV presenter Dougie Vipond.

His on-screen reputation and on-air witticisms are the product of years of experience on the live circuit, and despite his TV and radio commitments Fred has never lost his ability, or his desire, to play in front of a live audience.

And he is certain to give that added edge to his Perth Theatre performance when he gives this rare hometown show next Thursday – 8pm start.
