FAIR City revellers who fancy indulging in a bit of risque business, can let it all hang out next year.
An Evening of Burlesque brings the stars of the West End of London’s thriving burlesque scene to Perth Concert Hall, with proceedings reined in by sultry compere Kiki Kaboom.
While the gig is a long way off, October 14 to be precise, tickets are expected to be red hot for the steamy night that involves a fair degree of audience participation.
The UK’s only nationally touring burlesque stage show, it is described by promoter Michael Taylor as “tantalising yet tasteful, camp and colourful”.
“We’re talking all tease and no sleaze in a production that marries elegant showgirls, superb vocals, couture costumes, breathtaking choreography and a fabulous score with comedy and magic,” he raved.
But despite the ample abundance of corsets, killer heels and stockings, the production’s glittering performances tend to attract a mainly female audience.
Cast members will include Amber Topaz, whose vocal prowess is matched by dazzling dance moves, and the divine Chrys Columbine, an exquisite fan-dancer and keen ivory tickler.
Channelling ‘40s Hollywood glamour will be the sensational Hotcake Kitty, ‘cupcake cutie’, Slinky Sparkles, and drop-dead sex bomb, Marianne.
Also onstage will be Edinburgh Fringe star, Piff the Magic Dragon, and the phenomenal Kalki Hula Girl.
If critics are correct, fans are in for a real treat, with arty pundits labelling the show “jaw dropping”, “fun and witty . . . beautiful and rather moving”.
