THE complete line-up for the first The Famous Grouse Festival has been revealed, with former Runrig frontman Donnie Munro and the Bay City Rollers’ Eric Faulkner entertaining on the opening Friday night (August 12).
The inaugural Famous Grouse Festival runs Friday, August 12, and Saturday, August 13, at Scotland’s oldest working distillery on the outskirts of Crieff, marking the end of a special year celebrating 30 years as the number one selling whisky in Scotland.
Headlining the festival on the Friday night is Donnie Munro who will perform a wide mix of material from the Runrig back catalogue to his more traditional songs.
Solo acoustic artist and former front-woman of rock band Speedway, Jill Jackson, will perform on both the Friday and the Saturday night, and also gracing the stage will be Dundee’s Michael Marra, one of Scotland’s most successful songwriters, while Glasgow’s The Gospel Truth Choir will complete the Friday line-up.
Headlining on the Saturday night is Skerryvore, the award-winning six-piece Scottish band known for their fusion of traditional music with the urban sounds of rock and funk.
Saturday’s line-up also includes the modern Gaelic band Mànran, ‘Kick-Ass Celtic’ band Piperactive and Perth’s Mike Lee.
Tracey McCafferty, general manager at The Famous Grouse Experience, said: “The festival is a new and exciting event for us and we are delighted to be able to share the fabulous acts we have performing across the two days. Tickets are selling fast so fans should buy to avoid missing out.”
Tickets are £30 per day from www.ticketmaster.co.uk. Tickets restricted aged 14s and above.
