A new book aims to capture an authentic flavour of life in Highland Perthshire.
A collection of stories, poems and photographs contributed by the area’s residents is to be created by Perth and Kinross Council’s adult and family learning team.
The book, to be called ‘Life As We Know It’, will include contributions from a wide variety of Highland Perthshire people, and aims to inspire and encourage as many people as possible to tell their story.
If anyone ever thought they had a story in them, or they needed an incentive to get writing, the new work could be their opportunity to achieve fame through print, with photographs and pictures also wanted.
Sessions will be held in Pitlochry and Dunkeld to provide ideas, tips and general support to those who would like to take part in the project.
Next Tuesday there will be free soup and rolls from noon to 1.30pm at the Atholl Centre in Pitlochry’s Atholl Street for those wishing to find out more about taking part.
Tutors will be available to give support, hints and tips.
Then, on Tuesday, February 12 from 1.30–3.30pm, a creative writing workshop will be held in Birnam Library in the village’s Station Road.
