New CD from Blair based accordionist

BLAIRGOWRIE based accordionist, Nicol McLaren, has released a new CD with his Glencraig Scottish Dance Band, called Are Ye Askin.

This CD features the best in ceilidh and Scottish country dance music.

A new DVD by popular Pitlochry comedian and entertainer Eddie Rose has just been released, making this his fifth DVD offering in the last few years.

Eddie’s DVD was filmed in front of a live audience at the Royal British Legion, Turriff, and features the comic in three character comedy routines as an old sailor, "the wifie frae the wedding, and the meenister".

The rest of the 90-minute dvd features many Scottish and comedy songs, and scenery from Tayside, Perth, Gretna Green, the Angus Glens, Loch Lomond, Dunkeld, Loch Tummell, and Crieff.

Eddie is joined on the new DVD by champion button key accordionist Sandy Lindsay.

Perth’s Alex McIntyre, who also plays the three-row button box, has a new cd called Mixed Melodies featuring a selection of tunes.

Local musician, entertainer, and businessman, Tommy Newcomen, said it was great to see these local musicians bringing out quality recordings and putting Perthshire on the map musically.

All recordings are available from The Music Box, 20 Allan Street, Blairgowrie, and from all good music shops and will no doubt be big sellers in the run up to Christmas and New Year.
