The best new cars in Britain

WHAT a year for new cars. Refusing to buckle under the credit crunch, manufacturers are working hard to push the boundaries to come up with better looking, more efficient and more desirable new models.

We have teamed up with Britain ?s leading weekly motoring magazine, Auto Express, to name those that have finished head and shoulders above the competition in the Auto Express New Car Honours 2008.

To be eligible for inclusion every model had to undergo full testing in right-hand-drive form in the UK by the Auto Express road test team.

A total of 20 awards are made including the one every manufacturer strives for ? the Auto Express Car of the Year.
