Exeo marks the spot for SEAT

SPANISH car maker SEAT is planning on stealing some action from Ford and Vauxhall when it releases its new Exeo family sized saloon.

The newcomer will be going on sale in April to compete against the likes of the award winning Vauxhall Insignia and Ford Mondeo.

Prices will start from £17,740 and all but one of the seven models in the line up will be powered by two-litre diesel engines.

The sole petrol version has a two-litre turbo engine developing 200bhp and capable of accelerating from 0 to 60mph in a shade over seven seconds.

It will be available only in high level Sport trim and priced from £19,410.

The range topping SE Lux versions of the Exeo will be priced from £20,410.

The diesel engine will be available in two power outputs, 143 and 170bhp, with best economy of 51.4mpg and CO2 emissions of 143g/km.

All versions have a six speed manual gearbox.

Standard equipment includes USB connectivity for MP3 music players, cruise control, dual zone climate control, alloy wheels, front fog lamps, electrically adjustable door mirrors and power windows front and back.

Electronic stability controls and six airbags also feature across the range while the SE Lux models will come with leather upholstery as well as bi-xenon 'look round corner' headlamps.
