Ford extends Mondeo ECOnetic range

FORD is boosting its Mondeo ECOnetic line up with the introduction of a new 2.0-litre 115bhp model which has the lowest CO2 figure for the range.

It comes in a choice of hatchback and estate car formats, each with a CO2 figure of just 139g/km and costing from £20,145.

The engine is a two-litre turbodiesel unit mated to a six-speed transmission to achieve economy of 54mpg, rising to 64mpg in motorway cruising and giving a potential range of 800 miles.

Other emission-reducing features include low-rolling resistance tyres and an optimum gearchange indicator plus a lower ride height, air deflectors and a rear spoiler.

Inside, there is dual-zone automatic temperature control, Bluetooth connectivity with voice control, cruise control, seven airbags and a Quickclear heated front windscreen.

The new models will be offered alongside the existing five-door or estate 1.8-litre 125bhp Mondeo ECOnetic cars.

Ford now boasts the broadest sub-160g/km vehicle range of any manufacturer with 185 models.
