Citroen offers super warranty
ONE of the best warranties in the motor industry is being lined up to back the next new car from Citroen.
Freedrive, an all-embracing maintenance arrangement, will be offered to buyers of DS3, the first in a trio of models created to drive the French brand to a higher image in the showrooms.
Claimed to offer unprecedented peace of mind motoring, the package will come as an option to the standard new car warranty and can be tailored to specific needs.
'At pricing stretching from £195 to £875, Freedrive should eliminate every conceivable problem facing the private motorist.
'Based on the DS THP150 version over three years and 45,000 miles, it includes breakdown cover, all servicing and periodic maintenance and allows for the cost of any replacement part, including wear and tear items like windscreen wipers, batteries and tyres.
'Also included is the cost of the MOT test and a service to collect and return the car from the customer's home or office when servicing is required. And we'll also valet the car before it is returned.
'This new model range marks an important step forward for the brand and we're aiming to provide totally carefree motoring at a reasonable cost,' said a Citroen GB spokesman.
Just on sale, the three-door DS3 hatchback comes with a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines and costs from £11,700, DS4 and DS5 models are due next year.
