Diesel and automatic combo for Cruze

EASY driving has been linked with maximum economy in another family car.

Cruze, the high-value mid-size Chevrolet, is the latest model to offer the increasingly popular combination of diesel power and automatic transmission.

Priced at £17,145, the new 2.0 VCDi LT boasts a six-ratio gearbox with a manual shift function as well as operating in fully automatic mode to make light work of heavy traffic conditions.

The easy-driving transmission allows the car to reach the benchmark 62mph rate in less than 10 seconds and go on to 124mph all out - yet it still offers 42.2mpg average economy with tailpipe emissions of 177g/km.

Standard equipment includes electronic stability control and traction control, air conditioning, reverse parking sensors, cruise control, front fog lamps, alloy wheels, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, power windows and a six-CD autochanger and MP3 socket.
