PITLOCHRY was put under the political spotlight this week when First Minister Alex Salmond and his political team descended on the Highland Perthshire town.
A special cabinet meeting in the Atholl Palace Hotel was the third in a series taking place outside Edinburgh over the parliamentary summer recess.
Mr Salmond has already taken his team to Inverness and Dumfries, and concludes with a Cabinet meeting in Skye later this month.
As well as the formal Cabinet meeting there was a good causes reception to celebrate the work of local charity, social and voluntary groups.
There was also a discussion on the Scottish Government’s National Conversation involving the First Minister, Cabinet Secretaries and Ministers, members of the public and representatives from local civic organisations.
