A 29-YEAR-OLD man made a brief appearance in private at Perth Sheriff Court, charged with a brutal attack on another man in Milnathort.
Robert Donaldson is alleged to have been scarred for life after he had part of his ear bitten off in the incident.
William Townsley, of Muirtonhill Road, Lochgelly in Fife, made no plea and his case was continued for further inquiries.
He was remanded in custody after his bail application was rejected by Sheriff Lindsay Foulis.
The charge against him alleges that on May 9, at New Road, Milnathort, he assaulted Mr Donaldson, c/o Tayside Police, by repeatedly punching him and biting a piece of his ear off, to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
