Honoured by the Queen

A KINROSS academic was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list.

Scottish prehistoric settlements expert Ian Ralston was appointed as a professor in archaeology at Edinburgh University in 1998.

He is a past president of the Council for Scottish Archaeology.

Prof Ralston, whose wife, Sandra, is the administrator for Perth Festival of the Arts, was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh three years ago. The couple have resided in Kinross for over 20 years.
