FIDDLE music is firmly on the agenda as part of the Perth800 celebrations.
Abertay Historical Society and the Perth Strathspey and Reel Society have teamed-up to promote an event called The Fiddle Music of Perth, which will be presented by Morag-Anne Elder and her daughter Elisabeth Flett at the AK Bell Library’s Soutar Theatre on April 28.
The celebratory event will take the form of a talk about some of the composers and performers associated with Perth, regularly interspersed with examples of their music.
Morag-Anne is a well-known violin teacher, who has undertaken extensive research into Scottish fiddle music, while Elisabeth ably supports her mother in her enjoyable musical illustrations.
Abertay Historical Society has organised similar events over the last few years which have always been well received.
Admission to the April 28 session, which starts at 7pm, is free to members of both groups.
Tickets for non-members are £5.
