A MAJOR report by the Perth and Kinross Adult Protection Committee (APC) will be presented to a meeting of the council today.
Perth and Kinross APC was formed in 2009 following the introduction of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
The committee is made up of representatives from Perth and Kinross Council, NHS Tayside, TTayside Police and the voluntary and private sector.
It is intended to help stop acts of deliberate and unintentional harm and neglect happening against people who are unable to protect themselves because of a physical or mental illness, disability or infirmity.
The report provides a profile of the work done in the first two years of the committee, the kind of people it has assisted and any trends that have been observed.
Council leader Ian Miller said: “No-one should have to put up with being treated badly. It is important that people who are at risk of harm, or anyone who is in a position to help them, know that they are not alone and that there is support available."
“I welcome this report which shows the excellent work that has been done."
