POLICE are looking for the occupants of a white Ford Transit van in relation to the theft of chainsaws from a Dunning farm.
The driver, a man in his 40s, and a teenage male companion, visited Dalreoch Farm at 10am last Thursday, asking for scrap metal.
At some point between 4.30pm the previous day and 8am on Friday, three chainsaws and other power tools were stolen from the premises.
Police are now looking to speak to the Transit van driver and his passenger, but a spokesman stressed there was no evidence to indicate that the pair were responsible for the theft.
“We really just need to eliminate them from our enquiries,” he said.
The driver, who was wearing a black and white checked shirt, was described as a heavy-built man with short dark hair greying at the sides.
His passenger was aged about 17 and wearing a blue baseball cap and similarly coloured tracksuit top.
