PERTH club The Loft has been hailed Scotland’s top ‘late night venue’ in the Dram Scottish Licensed Trade Awards.
The South Street operation, which recently pressed ahead with a £500,000 investment, secured the Captain Morgan’s Spiced-sponsored accolade at a glittering bash in Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel.
Loft operations director Craig Fraser said: “We are delighted to win this prestigious award in the face of some serious competition from around the country.
“During these tough and challenging times it is a great morale boost for our staff as we continue to provide fresh forms of entertainment for Perth.”
In 2000 Craig was part of the team at the Ice Factory which captured the nightclub of the year award.
“The award for The Loft comes hard on the heels of our decision to expand so that is particularly pleasing,” he said.
In their verdict the judges said: “From the minute you walk in The Loft it is impressive. For instance, it was so much more than just four walls, a DJ and a bar. It was really stylish, had a great atmosphere and the music was just right.
“The staff were friendly and knew what they were doing. The door staff were friendly and professional, more like hosts than stewards.”
The Dram-sponsored SLTA awards are in their 16th year and were hosted by Peter Martin of Sky Sports.
