THE Perth Branch of Cats Protection are desperately trying to find a loving new "retirement" home for Mini, an adorable 14-year-old lap cat.

Mini was left in a box on the steps of the Birnam Institute with a note explaining that her owners had lost their jobs and their home and couldn't look after her any more.

She suffers from eczema which means she has a rash on her face and cannot eat dry biscuits, but otherwise she is in good health.
