YOUNG, would-be film makers have been approved funding to attend movie and animation schools by the Perth Common Good Fund Committee.
North Perth Community Learning Action Plan Group (NPCLAPG) want to send 20 young students to a five day movie school and 10 more to a four day animation school.
The group want all those participating to make either a film or animation about issues that effect them and their communities.
The total cost for the project was £10,000 and the NPCLAPG had approached the funding committee for £4,000 to cover the animation school and a community celebration project.
The remaining £6,000 has been awarded by the Community Safety Partnership Local Action Fund.
Speaking in support of the project, City Centre ward Councillor, Peter Barrett said: “I think this is very exciting and innovative and I’m really happy to see the Community Safety Partnership supporting it.”
