POLICE swooped on a car on the outskirts of Perth after receiving a tip-off that it was being used to transport drugs.
And inside the glove department they recovered 1000 grammes of amphetamine, with a potential street value of £10,000.
The discovery led to golf caddy Craig McFarlane being jailed for 27 months at Perth Sheriff Court this week.
A woman in the public gallery broke down in tears as he was led away in handcuffs by a court security officer.
McFarlane told police he had a gambling problem and hoped to get £80 for transporting the drugs to help pay off a debt.
McFarlane, of Prestwick, pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of the drug.
A golf caddy at a club in Prestwick, he had a previous conviction for a drugs offence when he was fined a total of £150.
A not guilty plea from a co-accused, 35-year-old James Doolan, of Troon, was accepted by the prosecution.
