PERTH-BASED Thomson Shepherd Limited has acquired Dundee-based HE Grant Ltd.
This latest acquisition will further strengthen the Fair City company’s pre-eminent position in the Scottish financial services marketplace.
Founded in 1999 in Perth, Thomson Shepherd is a financial planning business with over £500 million of funds under advice.
Local businessman Gordon Wilson, managing director of Thomson Shepherd, said: “One of Thomson Shepherd’s key strategies is to grow the business through the acquisition of long-established, quality financial planning practices. We expect HE Grant Limited to fit in extremely well as both companies believe in delivering high standards of financial planning advice and service to our clients.”
In April, Skipton Building Society acquired a 75% shareholding in Thomson Shepherd Limited.
It will continue to be run as an independent company, and will retain its brand.
Thomson Shepherd is currently in talks with other businesses which fit the business model and further expansion is planned.
