Dental helpline launched

A NEW emergency phoneline for dental care was launched by NHS Tayside this week.

Linkline is NHS Tayside’s first dedicated helpline and one-stop point of contact for emergency dental treatment. The new service will provide information for patients who are not currently registered with an NHS dentist but require access to an NHS dentist.

Morag Curnow, Clinical Dental Director with NHS Tayside’s Community Dental Service, explained: “The new telephone service Linkline will give people information on how to access NHS emergency dental care across Tayside.”

From this week members of the public who are not registered with an NHS dentist and require emergency treatment will be able to call Linkline on 01382 596982.

This service will operate daily Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 5.30pm. To arrange an emergency appointment patients should call Linkline at 8.30am or as soon as possible after that.

Between 5.30pm and 8.30am patients with a dental emergency should contact NHS24 on 08454 242424.
