A 31-YEAR-OLD Perth man made a second appearance in private at the Sheriff Court on Friday, charged with breaching an Interim Sexual Offences Prevention Order by attempting to lure a 14-year-old schoolgirl to his flat with the promise of drugs and alcohol.
The order was granted against David Baillie McMillan, of St Catherine’s Square, at Perth Sheriff Court on May 27, 2008.
Under its terms, he is banned from having unsupervised contact with – or molesting – any female child.
It is alleged that between July 28 and August 2, at his home, he breached the terms of the order without reasonable excuse.
It is alleged that over the course of several days, he sent text messages and made telephone calls to the teenager, requesting that he meet her.
The charge also alleges that he invited her to his flat and indicated to her that he had drugs and alcohol there.
McMillan also faced a second charge of committing a breach of the peace at his home, or elsewhere, by obtaining the teenager’s mobile telephone number from the memory of a phone which didn’t belong to him.
It is then alleged that between July 28 and August 2, he sent text messages and made telephone calls to the young female, again indicating he had alcohol and drugs.
The charge further alleges that he placed the girl, who was unknown to him, in a state of fear and alarm.
McMilla, who was represented by solicitor Mike Ferrie, was fully committed for trial and was again remanded in custody.
