Afghanistan vet was drug dealer

A FORMER Black Watch soldier and one-time U16 international footballer was sent to prison for six months at Perth Sheriff Court on drugs offences.

Andrew Shaw (21), Tulloch Road, Perth and a driver with Perth and Kinross Council, admitted supplying ecstasy in the city on May 23.

He was also in possession of the Class A drug in the Dunkeld Road.

And the court heard Shaw, who served with the army in Afghanistan, breached a bail condition requiring him to remain indoors overnight.

He had headed for Fort William on June 16 to formalise his exit from the army.

Shaw was arrested after a routine police check of his van.

He was spotted dropping a bag from the vehicle. It contained five ecstasy tablets and a further 139 were found hidden in the van.
