Drink-driver caught twice in one day

DOREEN Rose was jailed for 80 days this week after being caught drink-driving twice in the space of just three hours.

The 46-year-old kitchen assistant was nearly four times over the legal limit when police stopped her on the second occasion.

At Perth Sheriff Court, Rose, Main Street, Methven, admitted driving with excess alcohol on July 18. She crashed into a parked car reversing out of her driveway. Police found she was three times over the limit.

Later, she committed the same offence on the Crieff-Perth road and her alcohol count of 125 mg was even higher.

Sheriff Lindsay Foulis said he would be failing in his duty if he didn’t impose the ultimate penalty.

In addition to the jail sentence, Rose was banned from the road for five years and ordered to re-sit her driving test.
