Machany House opens doors

MACHANY House, near Muthill, is opening its doors as part of Scotland's Garden Scheme and the Hope and Homes For Children charity on Sunday, September 7, from 11am-4pm.

Machany is an arboriculturist's haven with trees planted over 200 years ago by the Drummond family. It has 12 acres of extensive lawn, a wooded area and a dell leading to a dry stone dyked burn.

Substantial footwear is recommended, and there will be wine, soup, rolls and stalls. Wheelchair access (limited). No pet. Admission £4. Children under 16 free.

Machany is five miles from Crieff (turn left in Muthill), four miles from Auchterarder (Castleton Road, via Tulliabardine to Strathallan Airfield), three miles from Gleneagles (turn right to Machany), two miles from Muthill and one mile from Tullibardine. Route: From the north and south: A9 to Gleneagles, signed to Crieff A823. Follow road approx. three miles. Look for the Yellow Scottish Garden Scheme signs.
