PETE Wishart MP was in Glenlyon this week to meet local residents and visit the Post Office and Tea Room.
Mr Wishart explained: “Following the recent round of closures announcements, I felt we were fortunate in North Perthshire to have only one office closed.
“I am acutely aware of how important Post Offices are to rural areas and I was delighted to visit Mike Hay and his staff at the Glenlyon Post Office.
“Not only is the post office facility a valuable service for local people, the tea room is a great boon for residents and visitors alike.
“At a time when Post Offices still have an uncertain future, with the possible withdrawal of the Post Office Card Account, I wanted to show local postmasters like Mike Hay, that I was firmly on their side.
“I will keep fighting in Westminster and beyond for our post offices’ futures.”
