Reveller had ecstasy

A T in the Park reveller had a costly lesson in drug taking after appearing at Perth Sheriff Court this week.

Aberdeenshire teenager Michael McKernan was caught him in possession of ecstasy at the Balado Festival this year.

At Perth Sheriff Court he admitted he "got carried away" at the music festival.

Fining 19-year-old McKernan of Midmar in Aberdeenshire £50 for possession of the drug, Sheriff Lindsay Foulis told the youngster: "This will be a £50 lesson to you about the condition you got yourself in."

Perth Sheriff Court also heard of other festival-goers caught in possession of ecstasy at T in the Park extravaganza. Deborah Cormack (29), of Mingarry Street in Glasgow, was found with the drug on the first full day of the festival and fined £100 in court this week.

And Liam David Barlow (27) of Grangemouth's Bute Place was fined £50 after he admitted possessing class A drug ecstasy at the Balado event.
