Baby used to pass resin in Perth Prison

A CARSE of Gowrie woman who used her baby to try to smuggle drugs into Perth Prison walked free from the Sheriff Court this week.

Laura Fyffe (20), of Noble Avenue, Invergowrie, was caught with £20 worth of cannabis resin in her possession at the Edinburgh Road jail on July 7

As she passed the child to her boyfriend, who was serving a sentence, she was spotted handing over a package to him.

Solicitor Kevin Hampton said he had been threatened that harm would come to her and her daughter if she didn’t take in the drugs.

Because of the small quantity of the drug, Sheriff Lindsay Foulis ordered her to carry out 200 hours of community service.
