THE recently refurbished and extended Fire Station at Auchterarder throws open its doors to visitors on the afternoon of Saturday, September 13. The open afternoon from noon until 4pm promises fun for all the family.
“Auchterarder Fire Station has been considerably upgraded and extended to offer excellent facilities including disabled access, so the personnel from the station have decided to open the doors to the members of the local community, to enable them to view the modern service which is there for their use and for their protection,” said Tayside Fire and Rescue’s Billy McDonald.
“There will be a number of demonstrations programmed for throughout the day with something to fascinate everyone, including a car cutting demonstration at 2pm and fire extinguishing techniques at 1pm and 3pm.”
Visitors can also see the original Auchterarder fire cart and an exhibition of the station history, as well as pick up vital tips on fire safety.
