Jam-packed diary for Perth over 50s

THE Perth Fair City 50 Plus Group celebrates its 15th birthday this year.

It was set up, along with several other 50+ groups in Perth and Kinross, for older people, who wanted to be more active, to offer the opportunity to meet, make new friends, share ideas/gain useful information and hear topics of interest.

Fifteen years on it continues to provide these things as well as activities like walking groups, carpet bowls, table tennis, bridge and lunch club.

In addition there are organised theatre/concert outings; long and short day trips and holidays. In fact, any excuse for “a jolly” is welcome. The reason for the 15th birthday party (in Queens Hotel) not being held until February 20, 2009, is because there is not enough time to fit it in until then!

The club meets on the first Thursday of every month in the Active Restaurant, Bell’s Sports Centre, from 2–4pm. Everyone welcome.

The topic on September 4 is “Power of Attorney” by Ian Lindsay of Wyllie Henderson Solicitors.
