Young talent in Perth join The Gondoliers

PERTH City Operatic Group are busy rehearsing for their forthcoming production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘The Gondoliers’ at Perth Grammar School Theatre.

The show has all the elements of the best G and S comedies – mistaken identity, love interests, patter songs and a happy ending.

Add some of Sullivan’s most sparkling music, some lively dancing, the romantic setting of Venice, the magical kingdom of Barataria, and you have one of Gand S’s all time most popular shows with audiences and performers alike.

As a society, PCOG are always keen to encourage young talent – and his year is no exception with new members joining from the age of 16 years, and many of the principal roles being played by some extremely experienced under 25’s.

Tickets for the show, running from September 8-13, are available priced £10, with £8 concessions on Monday and Tuesday, from the Horsecross box office at Perth Theatre and Perth Concert Hall, telephone 0845 6126321.
