Baby number four is due the day after Perth's Chrissie graduates

CHRISSIE Meldrum is set to win two awards, the Ede & Ravenscroft and Institute of Hospitality Award.

However, she is unsure whether she will be able to attend the graduation ceremony as baby number four is due the very next day!

Chrissie played a very important part in contributing to the success of the recent achievement where Perth College Training Restaurant ‘The Gallery’ was the regional winner for Scotland and Northern Ireland 2008, College Restaurant of the Year Award.

With a natural ability to lead, understand and show compassion where needed, she was looked upon as a mum, agony aunt and a loyal friend within her peer group of both young and old in the HND Hospitality Management course.

Married with three daughters and the aforementioned baby number four on the way, Chrissie still finds time to grow a few of her own vegetables, help to run a Sunday club at the local church, walk her dog every day and work part time.

Due to a slight learning difficulty, Chrissie was supported with a laptop supplied by the College allowing her to complete college work when she was at home.

“The laptop was indispensable when taking my daughters to their various activities including highland dancing and band practice. I was often found waiting in the car with the laptop completing college work!” she said.

Chrissie’s next step is to complete her education at degree level, hoping to work with Queen Margaret University Edinburgh to complete her third year on a distance learning basis.
