PLANS for retail units at the former Caithness Glass complex at Inveralmond are in the balance.
The departure of the glass-making Crieff tourist magnet had prompted local authority demands for a fresh planning application.
The initial green light for redevelopment, including retailing, had been given on the grounds that the cash troubled glassmaking attraction would be retained at the Perth gateway.
Work has been progressing on the new-look complex.
But speaking at this week’s Perthshire Chamber of Commerce monthly lunch, head of planning Roland Bean confirmed that the planners had pressed for a new planning application to come forward from the developers following the relocation of the glass facility to Crieff.
That would be decided further down the line by councillors.
