Shoe Box Appeal helpers thanked

A WHOPPING £600 was raised at the coffee morning and launch of the Blythswood 2008 Shoe Box Appeal.

The Support Group would like to thank everybody who helped to make the event a successful day, with special thanks to Councillor John Flynn who launched the Appeal.

Dennis Brown, from Blythswood, told the PA: “The Group would like to thank all the people who gave donations for the stalls and helped on the day. Thank you also to everybody that came along and enjoyed the fellowship, helping us to raise the awareness of the public to the Shoe Box Appeal and the needs still required by people in Romania.”

Shoe Box Appeal leaflets are available from the North Church office, from 10am–noon and at the Open Door café between 2-4pm Monday to Friday and also at the church on a Sunday where wrapped boxes can also be collected for a donation.

Because of limited storage please do not bring filled shoe boxes to the North Church before Sunday, October 19 and bulk deliveries before week starting November 3, the closing date for returning filled shoe boxes or filler items is Friday, November 7.

If you require posters a bulk supply of leaflets or more information about the appeal please contact Dennis Brown 629571.
