THROUGHOUT October, Historic Scotland is inspiring children in Perthshire and Kinross-shire to discover 5000 years of history without having to pay a penny.
More than 70 Historic Scotland attractions – including Elcho Castle, St Serf’s Church, Stanley Mills, Meigle Museum, Loch Leven Castle and Huntingtower Castle – will host six cartoon trails, with 36 different illustrated historical characters along the way.
From Jon the Jester to Mungo the Monk to Mary Queen of Scots, kids can hunt down their favourite historical legends, hiding throughout the properties.
On completing the trail, including a quiz sheet, all children will receive a small gift.
There’s an information service: By texting TRAIL to 84118, you will receive information to your nearest attraction to visit with free child’s admission.
