AN INVESTIGATION into an armed raid on a Perth Hotel last week is still continuing.
A balaclava-clad man was part of a two-person team who tried to carry out an armed robbery at the Isle of Skye in the early hours of last Monday morning.
Detectives have carried out a detailed search of the area around the well-known hotel, scrutinised CCTV and are continuing their inquiries into the serious incident.
As well as focussing on the hotel grounds, police have also been concentrating their investigation on the area around Manse Road and Bellwood Park.
At around 4.10am on Monday two men were found in the Isle of Skye Hotel, before threatening a member of night-staff with a knife in an attempt to rob the premises.
They fled with just a small sum of petty cash.
The first male was around 5’8” to 6’0” tall, wore a grey and black striped jumper, blue jacket and a tammy hat. He was carrying a rucksack.
The second man was wearing a black balaclava with a grey tammy hat over the top of it. He was also about 5’8” to 6’0” tall, wearing a blue jacket, and carried a yellow rucksack with grey straps.
An urgent appeal has gone out for anyone who witnessed the alarming incident or saw or heard anything suspicious. It is believed the pair may have made off in a waiting vehicle.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact police by calling 0845 600 5705 or speak with any police officer.
