Reaching new parts

TEMPERATURES may have plummeted across the Big County of late, but one local brewer is moving into even colder climes – the Arctic Circle!

A deal struck between Inveralmond Brewery and their Scandinavian distributor will see two of the Perth firm’s beers – Lia Fail and Ossian – being drunk in-and-around the Norwegian city of Tromso.

Fergus Clark, MD of the brewery, based on the Inveralmond Industrial Estate for the last 12 years, told the PA he was thrilled by the expansion.

He went on to say he hoped the deal would help spread a little of the festive spirit.

“I am thrilled that our brewery can provide beer-drinking pleasure to the people of northern Norway. Our beers are popular across the Nordic region.

“We would like to think that a certain Mr S. Claus may fortify himself for the month ahead with a bottle of two of Ossian or Lia Fail!” he added.

Tromso is over 200 miles inside the Arctic Circle. It is plunged into almost complete darkness for two months of the year as the sun disappears over the horizon from mid November.
