Recycling for 2009
PERTH and Kinross Council is encouraging local residents to recycle their Christmas cards rather than just throwing them away.
In conjunction with the Woodland Trust, national retailers Marks & Spencer, Tesco, TK Maxx and WH Smith will also take Christmas cards for recycling this month.
All Council Recycling Centres will, until January 31, accept Christmas cards, gift tags and wrapping paper for recycling.
The aim of the Woodland Trust scheme is to raise money to plant trees throughout the UK.
If everyone recycles just one Christmas card at WH Smith, Tesco, TK Maxx, Marks & Spencer and Council Recycling Centres throughout January, the Woodland Trust will be able to plant 15,000 trees to create UK woodland.
