Review of our local businesses will help Council support Perth and Kinross economy

PERTH and Kinross Council is carrying out a wide-ranging review of the services it provides to local businesses to find if improvements can be made.

The Business First review will make sure the Council's services for business are the best they can possibly be, and that the Council is responding positively to the needs of local companies.

Every business in Perth and Kinross will be sent a survey asking what they think of the quality of services the Council offers, and their views on areas that can be developed.

Enterprise and Infrastructure Convener, Councillor John Kellas, said: “The Council carried out an initial Business First survey in 2006 to examine how we interacted with local businesses. Since that time many projects have been carried out at the Council to examine and improve our service delivery processes.

“Re-examining the Business First principles in 2009 will provide valuable feedback on how far the Council has come in addressing the needs of its business customers. It is an opportunity for local businesses to have their say again and let us know if we have improved, and how they think we can improve further.

“The business world is constantly changing and evolving, and so are the needs of the companies which make up the Perth and Kinross economy. It is therefore vital that we react to those changes as a Council.

“It's extremely important that businesses complete this short survey, as comments and suggestions will help inform the Council's strategy."

The review will be sent out this week to every business in Perth and Kinross from Tuesday, April 28, along with a stamped-addressed envelope.

It will also be available as an online survey on the Council website – www.pkc.gov.uk from Tuesday, April 28.
