A 39-YEAR-OLD Perth man made a second appearance in private at the Sheriff Court this week, charged with attempting to murder a woman in his flat.
Nicholas Mark Grant, of Rose Crescent, also faced a second charge of abducting the female and preventing her leaving his house.
It is alleged that on May 2, he assaulted Leanne Hamilton by repeatedly striking her on the head and face with a shoe.
He is then alleged to have placed his hands around her neck, compressed her airway and restricted her breathing, all to her injury.
A second charge alleges that he approached the woman on the stairs and dragged her by the hair upstairs and into a bedroom, where he detained her against her will.
The offences are alleged to have taken place while Grant was on bail from Perth Sheriff Court on August 5 last year.
He was fully committed for trial and was again remanded in custody.
