GOLFERS and staff at the North Inch Course in Perth have raised in excess of £1000 for Barnardo’s by selling lost golf balls over the last seven years.
Golfers finding lost balls in the rough and water hazards along the course have being returning them to the staff at the North Inch since 2002.
They are re-sold at four balls for a £1 – and the cash collected goes straight into the charity box. The fund has now exceeded the magic £1000 figure.
Pat Blyth, operations manager for Barnardo’s UK Campaigns Fund-raising, said: “We are very grateful to all the golfers and staff at the North Inch who have contributed to this amount. Support for our work in this way is very important to us.
“It means we can continue to work with children who have been abused, bring new families together through fostering and adoption, and continue to help disabled children live a fuller life.”
