THE search is on to find the top employee in Perth and Kinross.
And that special person will be rewarded with the Perthshire Advertiser/Chamber of Commerce Star Employee of the Year 2009 Award at a glittering black-tie dinner and awards ceremony in November.
So, do you have an employee that’s a real star? Does one of your workmates deserve special recognition? Or do you come across a worker in your day-to-day life that goes the extra mile to do their job well?
If the answer to any of these questions is “yes,” then Perthshire Chamber of Commerce wants to hear from you.
The Chamber is inviting entries for the annual Business Star Awards. And, for the first time ever, the Perthshire Advertiser is introducing an additional accolade that recognises and rewards an outstanding employee rather than a business.
Chamber president Paul Shields said yesterday: “We’re absolutely delighted that the Perthshire Advertiser has helped us launch the hunt for an unsung hero out there in the workplace.
“Each year, the Chamber Star Awards reward business excellence in a variety of sectors but a company is only as good as its workforce and often there is a very special employee – either in the public eye or behind the scenes – who proves to be one in a million.”
Perthshire Advertiser Editor Alison Lowson added: “For me, it's the only business awards that really matter because the winners make Perth and Kinross a better place for us all.
“In these difficult times I believe it’s more important than ever to celebrate the brightest and best of local businesses.”
Nominations for the Employee of the Year Award should be sent with your name and contact number along with the name of the nominee, their place of work and position there and a 200-250 word explanation of why you think they should win the title.
Entries should be forwarded to Employee of the Year Award, Perthshire Advertiser, 58 Watergate, Perth.
Other award categories include new business award; customer service award; training and development retail award; creative award; tourism and hospitality award; and business in the community award.
