A PERTH man, pulled over by police after an anonymous tip-off, had been driving with more than the legal alcohol limit.
Andrew Cameron (46), of Viewfield Place, paid the penalty at the Sheriff Court this week when he was fined £600 and disqualified for three-and-a-half years.
He had a previous conviction for a similar offence.
Cameron admitted the offence which took place on July 1 in Cairns Crescent, Perth.
He also pled guilty to having no insurance but was admonished on that charge.
Depute fiscal Janine Bates said officers received confidential information that the accused was driving a Vauxhall Vectra while under the influence.
He failed a roadside breath test and was taken to Perth Police HQ where he gave a blood sample.
Solicitor Mike Tavendale said the accused had consumed three pints of lager that afternoon but felt fit enough to drive.
He had recently bought the car and intended getting the insurance off his first wage but that never happened.
