Perth MSP urges children's charities to apply for grants

PERTHSHIRE politician Roseanna Cunningham has urged local children’s charities to apply for newly-available grants designed to improve the lives of the nation’s youngsters.

A total of £4 million-worth of investment has been given to the charity Inspiring Scotland by the Scottish Government in a bid to re-vamp playgrounds, play schemes, and other projects aimed at primary school-aged children.

The Perth MSP said: “We are inviting charities to apply for funding for everything from staff training to the expansion of existing play schemes.

“The deadline for applications is November 6, with the first round of grants being put to work early in the new year.

“There are many individuals and charities who work very hard to provide play services for local children.

“I know that funds for these services are always and issue so this should be good news for them,” she said.
