PERTH MP Pete Wishart is backing a Scone man’s latest charity fund-raiser.
He attended a Sportsman's Dinner for Jock McInnes, the former Black Watch soldier who is tackling a 14-day charity expedition in May, 2010.
He is bidding to reach the summit of Europe’s highest mountain, Mount Elbrus, in Russia.
Jock is raising funds for locally based children’s charity Bravehearts Children’s Trust, who were conceived to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of children living in Scotland.
Their aim is to benefit children who are terminally ill or chronically sick and to meet the special needs arising from illness, disability, conditions or poverty.
Mr Wishart drew the raffle and donated a signed bottle of House of Commons Whisky to help raise funds.
He said: “Special praise has to go to Jock, who literally scales the heights of fund-raising endeavour and I wish him all the very best on his latest venture to the summit of Europe's highest peak.”
